Mycology

In the forests of Pinares a great variety of mushrooms and fungi grow. The most famous and frequent are Boletus (Edulis, Pinicola, Aereus), Miculas (Níscalos), Amanitas Cesareas or Perretxicos, depending on the season.

However, there are many other lesser-known mycological varieties, such as Chantarellas (Cibarius, Lucenses, Tubiformis or Cornocupoides), Pie Azul, Chipirón del Monte, Colmenillas (Morchella), or Senderillas (Marasmius Oreades), which will also delight those who love mushroom hunting while enjoying a spectacular, quiet and peaceful environment.

In Pinares and surroundings there is a strong tradition of Black Winter Truffle (Tuber Melanosporum) hunting and collecting from December to March.
